At last there’s some mention of nuclear power showing up in discussions of the impending (if not current) energy crisis. This CNN article discusses new proposals to help reduce energy costs, including one intended to reduce apprehension in investors building new nuke plants.
To whit:
“Officials said the president also will call on the Department of Energy to work with Congress to reduce uncertainty in the licensing process of nuclear power plants.”
Now, this is a far cry from anything actually happening, and I get the impression it’s a small thing, but it’s something. And it’s about goddamn time.
