Here are a couple of Linux-related articles I think are worth reading, especially if you’re at all interested in Linux or running it on the desktop.
The first is “Five reasons NOT to run Linux” (found via /.). Yes, that’s sarcasm, y’all. It addresses the five chief complaints/excuses people have for avoiding Linux.
The second is “Five mistakes GNU/Linux neophytes make”, which pretty much says it all.
My feelings about Linux on the desktop lately have come to this:
1) Linux is ready to be a desktop system for an average user
2) Linux is not ready to be a desktop system for certain power users
Unfortunately I’m short on time at the moment, so I’ll have to let that be a teaser for now.
