Cory Doctorow found a shower notepad and posted it to Boing Boing. It’s nice and all, but not quite the waterproof computer I asked for a while back.
If I have to carry the pad out of the bathroom to transcribe the idea to a notebook, why am I not just waiting two minutes to get out of the shower to write the thing in the notebook in the first place?
Cory wants his to sync with an organized, but I want a step better. Imagine a tablet with a pen. Powered by Linux, of course, running off a flash memory drive. It wouldn’t take much, and it could probably run off a couple regular batteries so you don’t have to charge it or run lethal power into your shower stall. Make it suction to the wall or hang from a hook so it can also be taken down for jotting notes on the crapper. And throw in a wireless antenna so it syncs with a PC.
Now that would be a shower notebook. Bigger than a PDA (which I’ve ultimately decided is useless for notes for me), yet smaller and lighter than a tablet PC and without all the extra BS.
Sure, they could just make a waterproof tablet PC, but that would be overkill. A notebook would be just fine.
