Smoke Blog: Primo del Rey

Smoked another one. I try not to so close together, but it was such a long day and such a beautiful night that I couldn’t resist.

This time it was a Primo del Rey, another torpedo John didn’t want to mess with. And it was good. It had a velvety texture with a hint of chocolate — creamy, not dark — and spice. It had a smooth, clean draw and held together well, and did not sour with heat. The chocolate faded toward the finish, but the velvety texture remained and I smoked this one damn near down to my fingers. Though it wasn’t my favorite of flavors, it’s most assuredly not one I’d turn down if offered again.
