Sale: “Restore from Backup”
By Mike | November 9, 2006
A couple years back, JF Gonzalez and I collaborated on a novella we called “Restore from Backup”. It was originally a short story intended for a specific anthology, but when it got bounced with the comment that it was missing something, we pumped it up to something in the neighborhood of 20,000 words.
We sat on it for a while, but the book has now found a home with Bad Moon Books and has a scheduled release date of May 2007. I have no details yet as far as price and format, but you can bet I’ll be posting all that info her when I have it.
As Jesus describes it in his latest newsletter, “Restore” is kind of a combo horror/sci-fi piece about a guy who takes an IT job with a new company and finds the daily tedium of his job is far more important than he ever imagined.
Jesus and I both work in IT and “Restore” is very much inspired by our experiences (but don’t worry, we don’t go completely geeky on you).We think you’re going to dig it.
