Wind Farm Whiners

Environmentalist crybabies are finally getting their way with the expansion of wind farm usage, but apparently even that’s not good enough because it kills birds and makes noise.

What irritates me most about this is I don’t understand what these people expect. They don’t want fossil fuels because of global warming. They don’t want nuke power because they’re afraid of the waste. They don’t want hydro because it kills fish. They don’t want wind because it kills birds.

I guess that leaves us with solar. But wait! Now you have to have fields of these panels screwing up the view, maybe covering hedgehog burrows or something. Not to mention the big batteries you have to dispose of every so many years.

They don’t want to harm the environment, yet they don’t want to deal with rolling blackouts like California. They want to cut energy usage, but there will be hell to pay if they lose power to a brownout in the middle of a hot, humid summer.

You want to keep that laptop juiced up? Keep Starbucks pumping out that half-caf triple foam latte that you just gotta have in the morning? That power’s got to come from somewhere! You don’t want the towers in your back yard? Move where there’s less wind.
