New Porch

Our front porch consumed my entire Memorial Day weekend, but I think it will be worth it in the long run. My brother and I tore out the deck boards and base Friday night, installed most of the brick Saturday, and then the Wife and I finished the job Sunday and Monday, just in time to have a BBQ. Despite a couple of minor setbacks that would have made Mike Holmes want to wring someone’s neck, the job is done and by all accounts looks good.
I had hoped to finish by Sunday night so I could write Monday, but it wasn’t to be. This is also why I have been on blog silence lately.
I’ll be back tomorrow with a small but fun book to tell you about. It includes a bit of flash fiction by yours truly and proceeds benefit the Shirley Jackson Awards.
