Along with the shelter medicine is this radiation kit. There’s a dosimetry kit in here, as well as what may very well be a geiger counter (has nothing to do with aliens).

I’m not sure it’s a coincidence this stuff dates back to things like the Cuban Missile Crisis. I’m half surprised there’s no “duck and cover” propaganda floating around.

Hard to believe things were that bad 40-50 years ago. I wasn’t that old when the Berlin Wall went down, and I think I was still a teen when the USSR collapsed.

Now we get to worry about the Middle East, but I don’t think it’s quite the same. After all, even if Iran or their buddies have nukes, they don’t have enough to glass the continent.
