I’m no pro, but I agreed to shoot a friend’s wedding over the weekend and came away with 509 pictures. I’m sure that will be whittled down quite a bit. There are some strong candidates in there for Photo Friday, however, given their wedding shots and there’s some value to them, I opted to not post them on Flickr and have them Creative Commons-licensed like the rest of my shots. I don’t know how the bride, groom, and their friends and families would feel about the pics flying around the web, and I’d prefer to make prints a little easier to find and buy, so I’m looking at a different sharing service.
I instead opted for a simple portrait of a friend taken on his boat last week. It was a gorgeous day, and while the boat wasn’t in the shot, I like the way the sky became a clear backdrop.
Shot with the kit lens. I’d like to upgrade to a better wide-angle lens at some point, but that takes some bucks. For now, this lens works. What I really need to make time for is polishing my PhotoShop and Lightroom skills.
As if studying karate, writing a novel, and balancing work and family life aren’t enough, right?
