Today I introduced the Rugrats to the McKenzie Brothers.
I fully expect they’ll be steamrolling one another on the living room floor all week.
I spent most of the day on a short story. I’m a bit late on this one, but I think the idea that hit me yesterday is better than the one I’d been noodling earlier. I also suspect it’s more likely to be different from any of the other pieces given the anthology’s communications theme. I’ll explain more once the editor approves the piece, and I’m confident I’ll be turning it in tomorrow evening.
Then it’s back to working on another short and Lie with the Dead edits. I should be able to put this draft to bed this week. It’s still too early to share any possible release dates, but rest assured we’re moving in the right direction.
I’m also getting back to the point where non-writing time can be creative time. Friday I had to be somewhere I couldn’t write, but I was able to take several notes on Book 3. It may not have a title yet, but the fleshy bits are appearing on the skeleton I assembled with my editor over the summer.
Gotta keep moving forward.
