It’s been quite some time since I’ve offered up free fiction on the web, so I decided I’m about due. Presenting here, for the first time anywhere, the short story “Inazuma”. It’s a bit too long to post within the blog, so please use the following links to download your desired format:
“Inazuma” had been accepted for an anthology which recently fell victim to the downturn in the economy. Rather than wait out long response times in a struggling fiction market, I decided to offer it up here instead. It deserves an audience, and I’m curious to see what kind of response it will get. Please spread the word to your friends. I’d also greatly appreciate links directly to this post.
Additional electronic formats may come soon. I took this opportunity to tinker with the tools for ebook formatting, and I’m not happy with the way .mobi (Kindle) files turn out from Calibre conversion, particularly line wraps and hyphenation. If anyone has a better suggestion, please let me know.
Thank you for downloading my work. If you enjoyed it, please do check out The Pack: Winter Kill, available for the Kindle and in trade paperback from Amazon and Barnes & Noble.
