Time for a writing update. It’s good to have a reason to write, not just jerk off into a keyboard. (I’d like to think I’ve at least progressed to finger banging.)
Work continues on Lie with the Dead. It’s not the slog it was a couple of months ago, and I’m making good headway. I’m reminded of how much I dig this book. I think you’ll dig it, too. And if you’re going to read it, you’ll want to be caught up by reading Winter Kill. (That’s a Kindle link; more formats are listed in the column to your right.)
I’m sitting on a big stack of signature sheets for Cemetery Dance’s upcoming Smoke and Mirrors collection of scripts. This usually means the book is well on its way. I plan to start signing them tomorrow afternoon and turn them around to the publisher as soon as possible.
Production is wrapping on the To Fight With Monsters comic from Antarctic Press. I imagine we’ll have it in our hot little hands soon, and Antarctic will be drawing names for the book prizes soon as well. I think this story lends itself well to comics, and I’m looking forward to seeing how the artist handled it.
Last but not least, I’ve had a look at some of the things Evileye Books has cooking, including more of the contributor list to their The Burning Maiden anthology. I think horror and thriller fans will be very excited about this one! Keep an eye on their Twitter feed or their Eyewire blog this week, too, as they hinted an announcement will be forthcoming.
Look for more news soon as I’ve tentatively agreed to write a short story and a novella for another publisher, and I’ve got plans for a prose serial. Incidentally, the former aren’t due until much later and the latter won’t begin until Lie with the Dead has been put to bed, so there should be no more distractions.
